Two luxury holiday cottages on the 5000 acre Barwhillanty estate in the beautiful Galloway hills of Kirkcudbrightshire near Castle Douglas.

Come and stay in our beautiful, refurbished holiday cottages on Barwhillanty Estate which benefit from nearly 30km of scenic walks and stunning views. Make us your base for a fabulous action packed week in Dumfries and Galloway - so much awaits you!

Situated in a peaceful location, with stunning views over open countryside, these detached properties are located on the estate and make an idea holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area.

Our lodges sleep 3 or 4 people in 2 bedrooms, 1 double and one with single or bunk beds. There is also an open plan lounge / dining / kitchen area and a shower room.

Diamonds Laggan:
The property consists of: a spacious open plan living room / kitchen with wood burning stove and oil Aga. One downstairs bedroom (zip and link) with ensuite shower room & toilet. Utility room. Games room. Downstairs toilet. Three double bedrooms, each with zip & link beds (can be twin on request). Bathroom with freestanding bath and toilet. Shower room & toilet.

Blairinnie:
The property consists of: a spacious living room, five bedrooms sleeping ten and three bathrooms.

An escape to rural bliss – the perfect getaway for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts with stunning countryside to explore on and around the estate.

On the ground, otters are common along with red squirrels and the occasional pine marten. With roughly 60% of the estate as forestry, both hardwood and softwood, Barwhillanty is a paradise for roe deer and the occasional red deer. In the air, as a re-introductory area, red kites are numerous as too are buzzards. Not so common, but present, are goshawks, merlin, and occasionally blackcock. Woodcock are present in good numbers in the winter. With over 20 lochs we also have many species of wildfowl: geese, mallard, teal, widgeon along with brown trout, great crested newts, and natterjack toads.
