Over the past few years holidaying or taking a short break with your pet has become a lot easier with hundreds of holiday cottages, guest houses and hotels throughout the country opening their doors to welcome you and your dog.

However, from experience, it's not immediately obvious from websites if a place is dog-friendly or not and you usually end up reading through Terms & Conditions pages to try and find clues. Not surprisingly it's harder to track down dog-friendly accommodation in large towns and cities and those with the more stars tend to be dog free places.

That's why we decided to put this site together, hopefully to make it easier for everyone to find somewhere suitable. Who knew, for instance, that the famous Gleneagles Hotel would let you bring your dog?

We don't recommend places per se, we leave that up to you, and unfortunately we don't include tariffs as these change constantly. All we aim to do is to try and make finding dog-friendly holiday accommodation easier all round.
