Coldingham Loch

The loch is one of Scotland's oldest established fisheries and has a well earned reputation for providing top quality fly fishing for brown, blue and rainbow trout from bank or boat. We also offer a range of self catering holiday accommodation for those who want to stay and enjoy all that this beautiful part of the Scottish Borders has to offer. An additional benefit of taking your Scottish fishing holiday here is that we do not have the biting midges.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement in some of the cottages – please check before booking. Dogs are not to be left unattended in the property at any time. We also ask that owners bring their own dog beds and that dogs are not allowed on any furniture nor into the bedrooms at any time. As Coldingham Loch is a working Fly Fishery surrounded by farm land we ask that dogs are kept under strict control at all times and do not enter the water of the loch at any time.

Stable Cottage
The cottage is fully centrally heated and has a woodburning stove in the light and comfortable lounge. It is a quaint cottage with plenty of character including the original window shutters on the sash windows still in use.

The stairs are quite steep and may not be suitable for anyone with mobiity issues. It ahs two upstairs bedrooms in the eaves of the building. One bedroom has a king sized bed and the other has a double bed and a single bed so can sleep 3 in this room.

The bathroom is downstairs and has a small bath with a shower above it. The kitchen diner is well equipped and spacious with a good sized fridge freezer, a double electric oven and a dishwasher. Stable Cottage has wifi for guests to use and has a smart TV.

The Lodge
This lovely old cottage (sleeps 6) would have been the Gate house /lodge to the old estate. This whitewashed traditional cottage stands at the entrance to the site in the same area as the chalets. It has a light and airy feel with an open fire and fully double glazed offering warm and comfortable accommodation that is popular amongst the regular holiday guests. With trees around and a garden area to sit out in the local bird life can be observed and enjoyed. It is also popular for bigger groups to book this with Elm chalet (which sleeps 4) as they can share a lawn area together which can mean an evening barbeque is easy to arrange.

Hawthorn Chalet
This chalet sleeps 3 in two bedrooms: one double, one single room and has been re-furbished inside and out for the 2015 season. It is especailly suited for couples or two adults as it is the smallest of the chalets. It is private and tucked away in a quiet sunny corner and is cosy and warm in the cooler months.

Sunnyside Chalet
Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms: one double, one twin and is tucked away in a quiet corner of the site near to Hawthorn and has its own fenced off garden area and parking. A wide variety of bird life can be enjoyed from the living and kitchen area.

Elm Chalet
Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms: one double, one twin and it is the biggest of the chalets and is fully insulated and very warm and cosy and for the summer months there is an outside decking area for eating out and enjoying watching the wildlife and the world go by.

Coldingham Village – 1.5 miles along Westloch Road from Coldingham Loch is the village of Coldingham providing visitors with a Spar shop, butchers, post office, two pubs, bookshop and craft/antique shop.
