Cringletie House Hotel is set in 28 acres of beautiful grounds and gardens offering a tranquil setting and delightful views to enjoy from our bedrooms and public rooms.
Cringletie House Hotel is unique. With its very special architecture, each bedroom has its own characteristics; from romantic turrets to feature fireplaces. It is also highly accessible with direct access from the carpark to all public rooms and most bedrooms.
All our public rooms have welcoming log fires - perfect for helping you wind down, as well as keeping you warm. Each room has a service bell, connected to the original butler panel; and, yes, they still work.
The Sutherland Restaurant with its magnificent fireplace and hand painted ceiling, offers a spectacular setting for dinner. It offers unpretentious fine dining in the Scottish Borders using the best ingredients, often home-grown but always local and seasonal, prepared with the greatest of care but not too much fuss.
Our newly created bar in what was previously the library, is serving draught lager and ale plus of course cocktails created by our knowledgeable bar man. Don't forget the whiskies!
Our classic rooms are perfectly formed. Beds vary from Double to Twin to Superking. All have a seating area with a settee or two tub chairs. Ensuite bathrooms offer a shower or shower/tub combination. Enjoy a little extra space in our Luxury Rooms or Junior Suites and the Selkirk Suite is our finest room consisting of bedroom, separate lounge and large ensuite bathroom which has a double ended jacuzzi whirlpool and separate jacuzzi shower. There's even a built-in tv for the ultimate relaxing soak.
For self-catering, a converted cottage in the grounds of the hotel features two double or twin bedrooms, both with en-suite. One ensuite has a bath and separate shower, the other a shower only. The cottage has a spacious living room with kitchen and 4-person dining table. Outside, the private terrace holds your private hot-tub and stunning views to the hills.
In November 2019 the hotel awarded 2 AA Rosettes and is one of only two restaurants in the Scottish Borders with this accolade.
There is a wealth of activities available for guests at Cringletie House Hotel. From relaxing walks in the grounds and garden, pitch & put, outdoor chess and archery on site - to a host of country pursuits and outdoor activities near by including: walking, mountain biking, canoeing, golf and fishing.
We also enjoy having dogs to stay, we do not charge for dogs and they are welcomed with a nice doggy biscuit! The grounds are wonderful for a morning dog walk with plenty of rabbits to chase and we will happily provide a water bowl on request. We also offer dogs their own blankets and cushions, dog box; doggie walks map plus we have a vet on call and a grooming service who can come to tender for all your treasured ones needs! Unfortunately, dogs (apart from Guide Dogs) are not allowed in any of the public rooms because of food hygiene regulations.
