Welcome to Fairwinds - a charming, owner run small hotel and self-catering chalets in Carrbridge near Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland.
Fairwinds Hotel and Chalets are situated in Carrbridge in the heart of Cairngorm National Park. Guests enjoy the choice of accommodation in our superbly appointed small hotel or in our fully equipped, purpose-built timber chalets.
Hotel
Our Carrbridge hotel offers accommodation options to suit every requirement from couples seeking a quiet break to larger groups seeking a base from which to explore the Cairngorm National Park and beyond.
With only 5 letting bedrooms accommodating a maximum of 10 people, we are able to ensure that every guest receives the highest level of personal attention. A lounge area with honesty bar and a large conservatory with our restaurant and a sitting area offer communal areas in which to relax and enjoy the company of other guests.
Whilst we do not offer evening meals we will always pre-book a restaurant of your choice in the local area.
Our five guest rooms are all different, and are individually and tastefully decorated. All are equipped with flat-screen TV, hairdryer, radio alarm clock with ipod dock and a tea/coffee making tray with complimentary home baking. All our rooms have en-suite facilities.
Osprey, Cairngorm and Strathspey are our most spacious rooms. All have a bath and shower en-suite. For those who enjoy a long soak, Osprey has the added advantage of a large corner bath. Both Osprey and Strathspey can be requested as a twin room or a double room (super-kingsized bed). Cairngorm has a European kingsize bed (10cm wider than UK kingsize).
Strathspey is our suite on the ground floor making it ideal for guests who find difficulty in negotiating staircases. This room has been completely renovated with a new luxury bathroom with walk-in shower, bath and 'his and hers' double vanity unit, a pressure-fed water system and underfloor heating. This room is now disabled-friendly as a wheelchair can now enter the bathroom. (Please note:not a full disabled room).
Morlich is our smaller double with a walk-in shower en-suite and Macdui is our cosy double room. It has a walk-in shower en-suite. Pets are only allowed in Strathspey.
Our large period conservatory serves as our Breakfast Restaurant where guests enjoy leisurely breakfasts. The food is freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen using the finest of produce, as much sourced as locally as possible.
Chalets
For guests who prefer the flexibility of self catering accommodation, we offer six timber chalets which nestle around our own private lochan with views towards the mature woodlands which surround the grounds. Sleeping either 4 or 6 people, the purpose-built and fully equipped chalets are situated behind the hotel in a beautiful natural setting and are ideal for group/family holidays.
There are three 2 bedroom chalets sleeping a maximum of 4 people. Each chalet overlooks our small lochan with views to the surrounding woodland. All our 2 bedroom chalets have a double room and one room with twin beds. Silver Birch and Pinewood are pet-friendly.
Rowan, Willow and Maple chalets have 3 bedrooms and sleep a maximum of 6 people. Each chalet overlooks our small lochan with views to the surrounding woodland. Willow and Maple have a double room and two rooms with adult bunk beds. Rowan has twin beds in the main bedroom and adult bunk beds in the other two rooms. Rowan and Maple are pet-friendly.

Fairwinds Hotel and Chalets sits in 7 acres of very secluded and peaceful private grounds surrounded by mature woodlands. Sit by our own private lochan enjoying a moment of quiet reflection or watching the antics of our mallard ducks. Roe deer, crested tits and a wide variety of birds number amongst the wildlife that frequently visits our grounds but the undoubted stars and a real favourite with our guests are the red squirrels.
