Whether you are adventuring into the Angus countryside to bag some Munros or uncovering Scotland’s coolest city, the resort is an ideal base for exploring. Broughty Ferry and the City of Dundee are only minutes away, and Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Aberdeen are all within easy reach. When you’re making memories, we don’t want anyone to be left out, especially not your favourite family members, which is why we are a dog-friendly resort.

We are also passionate about bringing locally-sourced, tasty food and drink to the table. So, when you dine with us, you'll see our own home-grown produce on our menus, as well as the best of local.

Our self-catering countryside lodges and chalets have much to offer visitors of all ages, whether looking for pure relaxation or activity-packed holidays in Scotland.

All our holiday lodges in Scotland are equipped to the highest standards and are set amidst an enchanting woodland or waterside area, a short walk away from our main reception. Located near to the Scottish East Coast, the area offers a number of visitor attractions and plenty for all the family to see and do. Nearby there are a number of excellent restaurants and hostelries.

Our dog friendly lodges offer the perfect Scottish retreat for you and your family dogs. Glen Lyon, Glen Logie and Glen Finlet are spacious Waterside Lodges that sleep 6 and provide beautiful views over the resort. Glen Isla and Glen Esk are Classic Woodland Lodges that sleep 4 with balconies overlooking the fishing ponds. Glen Clova is also set in the woodland and sleeps up to 5. There is a wide selection of walking paths around the resort ranging in sizes to suit all dog types, from the old to the more energetic. There is also a variety of dog friendly country parks and beaches nearby if you are looking for something extra.

We allow well behaved dogs in our Cairn O' Mount bar and on our outside veranda where you can enjoy a coffee, a little dram or a taste of our local and home grown Scottish produce from our seasonal menus. If you would like to bring your dog it is £30 per dog for a short stay (up to 3 nights) and £50 per dog for a long stay (4 nights or longer). The maximum number of dogs per lodge is two.

Our Waterside restaurant and Cairn O' Mount bar are set in the heart of the resort, leading onto a timber-decked terrace overlooking the fishing ponds and beautiful Angus Countryside. Dining in Kingennie’s popular Waterside Restaurant or Cairn O’Mount bar is a truly delightful experience, with striking views overlooking the resort grounds. Here we serve a range of dishes prepared by our excellent chefs, using not only fresh local produce but home grown produce from our family farm.

The Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort is situated on a stunning lochside location in beautiful Angus countryside on Scotland's picturesque East coast just a few miles from the city of Dundee, ‘City of Discovery’ – with world famous Carnoustie Golf Links nearby too. Dundee has the largest indoor shopping centre on the east coast of Scotland.
