One of the wildest places in Britain, whatever you do under the big Caithness skies, you will have all the time, space and fresh air you need to rejuvenate your batteries. Everywhere you go, you will meet Caithness folk and discover places where people still make time for each other. And when you return, our small local team are here to welcome you back to your beautiful Scottish home.
Each of our 14 bedrooms has recently been restored to their former, traditional glory. Beautifully furnished, the hues are restful, the bedding soft and the light exquisite. These peaceful, delightful havens are the perfect place to retreat for a deep, restorative slumber after a day's exploring. Stay just one night or for awhile and you'll experience genuine Highland warmth and hospitality.
Each of our 14 countryside bedrooms is decorated with homely Scottish interiors with antique furnishings, all with your comfort in mind. Every time you stay we include a full Scottish breakfast plus a choice of pastries, cereals and fruit, yoghurts, tea and coffee. Vegetarian options are available.
The restaurant at Forss House has a reputation as one of the finest in the North and is the only 2AA Rosette restaurant in Caithness. Our Chefs are lucky enough to have some of the finest produce to cook with, straight from the neighbouring estates and seas that surround us.
Discover mind-blowing landscapes, soaring sea cliffs and deserted stretches of coastline. During the spring months, watch the colonies of puffins that flock to the clifftops. Become an end-to-ender, and visit the northerly extremes of the UK mainland at Dunnet Head or John o’ Groats. Take a restful detour from the world-famous NC500 route, stopping with us for just a night or two, or simply a traditional Scottish supper.
We love dogs and completely understand that your four-legged friend is part of the family. Up to two well-behaved pups are welcome to stay with you in any of the following bedrooms: Master Double, Master Twin, Standard Twin.
Your doggy will receive a warm welcome, including a comfy doggy bed and some special treats. Please note: a small charge of £15.00 per pup, per night applies. Unfortuantley, dogs are not permitted in the Main House, however, if you wish to dine with your dog we do provide room service. Dogs are of course encouraged to enjoy the gardens - all our dog-friendly bedrooms have direct access to these.
