The Colvend Coast in Dumfries and Galloway, south-west Scotland, is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Little wonder, then, that it is also a popular visitor destination. But unlike the Lake District in neighbouring Cumbria, this part of Scotland, one of the most sparsely populated areas of Britain, is relatively undiscovered which means that the area is never overrun, even in the peak season. This makes it a perfect place to unwind and relax and take in the many stunning views and places of interest to visit.

Kingfisher Lodge
A 4-star Scandinavian-style holiday lodge for up to 6 people. Set in an elevated position, Kingfisher self-catering holiday lodge overlooks our own loch and offers stunning views from the main deck to the Galloway woods opposite and directly across to the hilly Colvend Golf Club and, from the upper deck, out across Sandyhills Bay and the Solway Firth to the Lake District and Cumbria.

Kingfisher has level access from the path into the large airy entrance hall where you'll find the house bathroom to the left and a large twin/super king bedroom to the right, carpeted open tread stairs take you upstairs whilst ahead, a glazed door takes you through to the lounge, dining room and open plan kitchen, whilst outward-opening French doors from the lounge and a single glass door from the kitchen end lead out onto the full width deck. With seating and table for six and its own electric supply, this lodge looks south towards the Lake District - a great sun trap! Stairs access up into a large twin/super king bedroom with its own lounge area with comfortable seating and patio doors out onto the upper full-width deck, a door from this to the front leads onto the master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with electric shower, wash-hand basin and toilet.

All bedding (anti-allergenic), lovely big thick towels, travel cot, highchair and stair gate as required are included as well as Free Wi-Fi.

Red Kite Lodge
A 4-star Scandinavian-style holiday lodge for 2-4 people. Our Red Kite Lodge has level access into the entrance hall with a double bedroom to the right and a large light and airy bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash-hand basin to the left. Glazed door through to the open plan kitchen / dining area and two-seater settee with doors onto the full-width deck. A carpeted open-tread staircase leads up to the upstairs lounge which has full-width patio doors out onto the upper deck. There is a door from the rear of the lounge to another bedroom with a zip-and-link bed offering you a choice of deep-sprung twin beds or a super king divan.

The dining area has television with Freeview, free Wi-Fi, DVD player, X-Box and large selection of games, plus Bose CD radio. Outside, there is patio furniture for the decks.

All bedding (anti-allergenic), lovely big thick towels, travel cot, highchair and stair gate as required are included.

Owl Lodge
A 4-star Scandinavian-style holiday lodge for up to 6 people. Entering Owl Lodge the door to the right leads to the double divan bedroom. Opposite is a bathroom comprising of bath with electric shower over, toilet and wash-hand basin. Door through to large lounge with patio doors to the deck overlooking the Galloway countryside. Dining area with door to deck and fully fitted kitchen. Carpeted open tread stairs from the hall leading to the large twin bedroom with lounge and patio doors on to the upper deck. Door leading off into double divan bedroom with en-suite toilet with hand wash basin.

Both double bedrooms have radio alarm clocks and hairdryers. Twin bedroom/upstairs lounge has a TV for PS3 games console and DVD player. The kitchen has a gas hob with an electric fan oven / grill. Separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, hand blender & USB socket. Full range of cutlery, crockery, glassware, pans, utensils, etc. Lounge has two three seater settees, free WI-FI, television with DVD player, books and selection of DVDs.

All bedding and towels, travel cot, highchair, stair gate are included.

There is a bar and restaurant within Barend, Sandyhills. There is parking adjacent to the Lodge.
