With two perfect properties to choose from, we have something to suit your holiday needs. For couples we have the charming and cosy Rosewall Cottage, located in the heart of New Abbey village, with the impressive Sweetheart Abbey as a stunning backdrop.

Craigbittern House is a stones throw away from the beautiful Sandyhills beach. The house is divided into two parts; the main house which has a grand, elegant feel to it while the cottage which has a more modern, cosy feel. Craigbittern is the ideal base for family celebrations and friend get-togethers and sleeps 13 people.

Rosewall Cottage
A lovely cottage with historical value in the centre of the picture postcard village New Abbey. Nestled amongst the lovely cottages of the village, Rosewall is full of charm. Perfect for a country get away or a romantic break for two. Within a short walking distance of the cottage there is a general store, tea room with gift shop, pub and of course the stunning Sweetheart Abbey. Nearby there are plenty of beaches, walks and wildlife watching to enjoy. There are also golf courses and numerous cycle trails within easy reach. Dumfries is 7 miles away and has many amenities.

The cottage itself is very cosy and beautifully decorated. There is one double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower, living room and a dining kitchen. All modern facilities including washer/dryer, microwave, coffee machine, bluetooth speaker and Wi-Fi. There is a small private garden to the rear which is a lovely place to sit and have your morning coffee if the sun is out. A fantastic location to experience everything the area has to offer and the perfect place to relax. Parking can be on street or at the car park for the Abbey which is a short walk.

Craigbittern House
Craigbittern House and Cottage are ideal for a family or friend get together and just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Sandyhills beach. The house is in two parts: the main house has a grand, elegant ambience and the cottage has a more modern, cosy feel. Please note the properties have separate entrances. The house and cottage combined can sleep up to 13 adults.

Rooms in the main house include: entrance hallway; dining room; sitting room; snug; toilet; kitchen with range cooker and conventional oven; a small study; The Den (gaming room); utility/boot room; 5 bedrooms (2 en suite); bathroom; shower room; toilet. There are two kingsize bedrooms, a super-kingsize bedroom, a double room and a single room in the main house. Guests can enjoy the large, enclosed gardens to the front and rear and a large driveway. There is also a patio area with seating to the side of the house. We have a fire pit in the back garden for guests to enjoy. The garage has been converted into a heated games area which includes football table, darts and table tennis and fridge.

Please note that Wi-Fi in this area isn’t fast due to rural location. Phone signal can be hit and miss depending on your network.

Adjacent to the house is Craigbittern Cottage, which is included in your booking. The cottage shares a driveway and gardens but has its own entrance to the rear. The cottage has a light, airy decor and is welcoming and cosy. On the ground floor is the lounge, shower room, a toilet, a double bedroom and upstairs compromises of a small kitchen and breakfast dining area and twin room.
