Herrislea House is situated just five minutes drive north from Lerwick in Shetland’s Tingwall Valley, and has earned quite a reputation as the perfect home from home for its visitors.

The hotel is an excellent central base from which to explore Shetland’s islands – ask the hotel staff about loch and sea fishing, golf, boat trips, walking and cycling routes, Shetland’s past and – very much in the present – its state of the art sport and leisure facilities.

The hotel is also next door to Tingwall Airport with flights to the outer islands of Shetland. This makes Herrislea House Hotel the perfect place to stay if you plan on exploring Fair Isle, Foula, Papa Stour or Skerries.

We can also offer you a limited selection of snacks. Then you can settle in to the comfort of our Front Room with drinks or coffee & tab nabs and a dram from our fine malt whisky selection. Perhaps a chat with our friendly ghost just before deep sleep in a sleigh bed.

At Herrislea House, we offer Shetland accommodation with a choice of 9 individually designed en suite bedrooms, each one with its own décor and cosily heated. All bathrooms have a bath with shower over. All rooms are non-smoking, each has good wifi access and a mini bar with the usual TV, coffee/tea, telephone, with hair dryers & irons available. Single, double and family rooms are available. We operate with your individual comfort in mind.

We have a small restaurant with an eclectic mix of décor, where we aim to offer complete home comfort in a relaxed style.

Scalloway Meat Co. who specialise in local meat & produce & local seafood from Blydoit Fish Shop also in Scalloway. We offer Shetland Beers and Gin from Unst among other drinks, with a selection of malt whisky from Scotland.
