Moorfield House Hotel

This charming property in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park is run by Grant & Maria Mason and sits in a secluded location within the historic village of Braemar in Royal Deeside, yet only a short walk in to the centre of the village where bars and Restaurants are located. Surrounded by mountains the Moorfield overlooks the famous Braemar Highland Games Gathering arena and is only yards from the Royal Pavilion.

Recently refurbished the property offers a warm and friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful and quiet location, fresh home cooked breakfasts and is the ideal base for outdoor activities all year round.

We have completely refurbished all of our bedrooms which all have brand new modern en–suite shower facilities. One room can now be booked as a single occupancy room or a small double with B&B rates according to the number of guests staying in this room. This allows us to increase our capacity and also offers guests an additional double room when our other rooms are fully booked. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the front bedrooms have open views over the games park to the Cairngorm Mountains.

Our family room is located to the side of the main hotel and has its own entrance and gated garden and is very quiet and peacful. This is also our dog friendly room, no other room can be booked to accommodate pets with the exception of registered guide dogs.

We have decided to relocate our Restaurant & Bar from The Moorfield to our new property in the centre of the village “The Cairn – Grill Restaurant & Bar” a short 10 minute walk from The Moorfield, which removes noise and disruption to guests staying with us as well as allowing us to cater for your needs in a larger environment with greater opening hours. Our new Sung bar located in the restaurant offers fantastic quality Scottish Ale’s, Whisky’s & Gins as well as an excellent wine list.

As a guest staying with us at The Moorfield you will be entitled to a 10% discount on your Food & Drinks bill if you eat at The Cairn by showing your room key to the staff in the restaurant.

There is ample parking in our private car park for cars, Mini Buses and motor cycles, and we have drying facilities for wet clothing and lockable storage for bikes. Free Wi-Fi available in all rooms.
