Stein Inn

An eighteenth-century inn that will have you yearning to visit again and again to experience the warm Scottish welcome, fine food, superb accommodation and traditional highland bar offering over 130 whiskies. The Stein Inn is waiting to welcome you!

In its present state, the Stein Inn dates from 1790, although parts are known to predate this, making it the oldest inn on the Isle of Skye. However, a happy medium has been struck between the old days and modern times, ensuring that discerning travellers are more than comfortable in the stylish and up to date en-suite bedrooms.

The Stein Inn has five comfortable, individual en-suite bedrooms, on the first floor, all with spectacular views of Loch Bay. Available are two king sized double rooms (which can also be configured as twin bedded rooms), two standard double rooms and one single room (graded as a 3 Star Inn and accredited as a Gold standard by Green Tourism Business Scheme, a sustainable tourism certification scheme).

All rooms have en-suite facilities. To encourage rest and relaxation and leaving the world behind you, our rooms do not have televisions and there is no mobile reception!! We do have wi-fi, but it can be intermittent!

We offer light lunches, featuring some old favourites. We use the best of Scottish ingredients and in particular from the Isle of Skye and the Highlands, including the freshest of shellfish. Eat in the bar, or reserve a table, or weather permitting, dine al fresco with the fabulous view of Loch Bay.

As a family-run establishment, the Stein Inn is only too happy to welcome families – two of the double rooms can accommodate parents with up to two children. Please note that all rooms are non-smoking.
